WHO’S WHO

President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln
Max and Donna Daniels of Wheaton, Illinois, nationally renowned Lincoln portrayers, will be in attendance all weekend. Feel free to shake the President’s hand and enjoy the wit and wisdom of this very special couple.

Living History Artisans
Life wasn’t easy in the 1860s. Be sure to visit with all the living history exhibits to find out how people of the time made simple items such as: candles, brooms, cloth, yard implements, and blacksmith goods.

Reenactors
One of the best features of the weekend is the ability to talk to all of the reenactors. The Civil War surgeon just may be a real doctor. The cannoneer or cavalryman could be a computer programmer or an attorney in the 21st century. All are historians in their own right and can help you better understand that poignant time in our history when brother fought against brother. They are more than willing to answer your questions about their unit’s history, camp and equipment.

Sutlers
Quite a supply train followed the armies as they moved about the country. Civilian sutlers provided soldiers with goods and services not found in military supply houses. You can shop the various on-site sutlers for period uniforms, fine clothing for ladies and gents, interesting artifacts, and documents.
